You once told me that I live in the now. I mostly agree. I think so do you, and we both value that we do so. Is it so obvious?
The now, if it exists, seems unburdened with the prior and the past, connected only to the enjoyment of the moment. A detachment from other moments intended to accentuate the attachment to the present. Or, maybe, no real action, just a natural acceptance of and dedication to the present. A rejection of noisy interferences with the basic signals. “Now is all there is” as a core statement.
Yet it is not all there is. as. Now builds from the past towards the future, zooming in and out to it. We have both made a lot of choices to get to the now. We have a lot of upcoming choices to make in the future. Now sheds light on where to go.
How random will the path be? My guess is that it will be linked to some attachments, in spite of the demonstrated vanity for self to attach. But for self to allow others to attach is quite valuable. A gift that does not take. A free attachment of sort, a virtual attachment as required by truly living in the now.
